AfghanMade is focused on the revitalisation of traditional industries in Afghanistan – including carpet weaving, cashmere production, jewellery and artisan products.
The Aayenda brand is supported by international jewellery designers who collaborated with Afghan artisans to design a line for the international market, using lapis beads so fine that only two villages in the world are able to make them.
This bead making business is managed by one Afghan woman, who is the inspiration behind the program. AfghanMade hope to increase the number of vulnerable women she employs to over 3,000 through the sales of Aayenda .
